Dhami claims bronze

KATHMANDU: Ranjana Dhami claimed bronze medal in the seventh World Para-taekwondo Championships last week in London. Dhami finished third in the K-44 event of women’s 49kg weight category after she faced a 30-25 defeat against Mongolian opponent Enkhtuya Khurelbaatar in the semi-final bout.

Earlier, Dhami had won bronze medal in the third Asian Para-taekwondo Open Championship in Chuncheon, South Korea in July.

Another Nepali player, Palesa Gowardhan lost to Russian opponent 13-5 in the women’s 58kg quarter-final match.

In the men’s K-42 event, Rohit Hang Rai lost to American player in the 75kg section quarter-finals, while Ram Adhikari went down to Ukrainian player in the 61kg weight category.
