KATHMANDU: Tribhuvan Army Club’s Ratnajit Tamang and Nepal Police Club’s Dipesh Dhami advanced to the men’s singles quarter-finals of the Annapurna International Corporate Badminton Tournament here at the Nepal APF Club on Monday.

Tamang saw off NPC’s Gautam Kathayet 21-19, 21-17, while Dhami defeated Ranjan Buragain of India 21-13, 21-18.

Likewise, Sajan Krishna Tamarakar of APF defeated Praphul Maharjan of TAC 21-10, 23-21, TAC’s Nabin Shrestha saw off Suman Limbu of APF 21-14, 21-17, NPC’s Bishnu Katuwal defeated APF’s Sudeep Sedhai 21-23, 21-18, 21-16, Ajim Sarwar of Pakistan outplayed APF’s Bijit Thapa Magar 21-18, 21-15, Nurad Ali of Pakistan saw off Ranathuska Karunathilaka 21-13, 21-17 to make it to the last eight.

TAC shuttlers dominated the women’s category as four players made it to the quarters.

Nangshal Devi Tamang beat Thinle Dema of Bhutan 21-10, 21-5, Rashila Maharjan recorded a 21-8, 21-11 win against Sulochana Bhattarai of Ilam, Anumaya Rai beat Sita Rai of Zest Badminton Academy 21-16, 21-19 and Atima Giri defeated Pratha Deuba of Kailali 21-11, 21-10.
