Rato Bangala beats GAA
Rato Bangala School defeated Godavari Alumni Association (GAA) team 46-31 points in the inaugural match of the second Nepal Basketball Association (NBA) Girls Open Basketball Tournament here on Saturday.
Aparna Pandey of Rato Bangala top scored netting 16 points, while Arjana Pradhan, who was the best performer of the match added 14 points for the team. For GAA, Liza Chand and Sumi Singh scored nine points each. Altogether five teams, including Everest College, Bishal Nagar Youth Club and Mahavir Girls Club are participating in the tournament.
Meanwhile, 12 teams are taking part in the third NBA Boys Open Basketball Tournament which was also inaugurated on the same day by NBA acting president Mahesh Kumar Agrawal at a function organised here at the GAA hall. Agrawal handed over the English translated version of basketball rules book to coaches.
The participating 12 teams are divided into four pools. Tribhuvan Club, Brigade Boys Club and Gyanodaya Club are drawn in pool A, while Naya Baazar Club, Rookies Team and Bishal Nagar Youth Club are in pool B. Similarly, Nepal Commerce Campus, 10’ers and RIBS constituted the pool C and Ace Institute of Management, GAA and Bouddha Stupa Youth Club are in pool D.
