Nishalaya Jung Rayamajhi won the title of the Himalayan Bank Golf Tournament here at the Royal Nepal Golf Club today.
Rayamajhi finished first in count back after he was tied on 36 points with Maj Nima Wongdi Lama. Lt Col Nischaya Jung Rayamajhi - father of Nishalaya - claimed the gross category trophy with 32 points. Devi Pulami won the women's section title with 31 points, while Samjhana Khatri was second with 30 points.
Maj Gen Vijay Moktan bagged the senior section title with 35 points, while San Prasad Pradhan finished second with 33 points. Gopal Chitrakar won the super senior section title with 33 points. Brig Gen Nakul Rayamajhi won the 30th place award kept to mark the 30th anniversary of Himalayan Bank. Ashray Basnyat won the junior title with 17 points and Prakrit Tamang was second with 16 points. Anvadya Malla won girls' section title with 17 points, while Sane Zean Bajgai came second with 12 points.
Samir Acharya finished first among HBL golfers with 28 points, while Swapnil Bhattarai won the guest section title with 43 points. Sanjay Poudyal won the most birdies award with three birdies, while San Prasad Pradhan and Hari Bahadur Shrestha bagged the longest drive and closest-to-the-pin awards respectively. In junior section, Abhimanyu Karki and Idan Singh Saud won the longest drive and closest-to-the-pin awards respectively.
In all, 125 players took part in the two-day event sponsored by Himalayan Bank Limited. HBL Chairman Prachanda Bahadur Shrestha and RNGC President Madhukar Yakthumba among others handed over prizes to the winners.
