Caddie Match Play
KATHMANDU: The Caddie Match Play Competition between the caddies of the Royal Nepal Golf Club and Gokarna Golf Club is slated for Monday at the RNGC.
A total of 40 players, 20 each from both clubs including two women caddies, will take part in the event which will be played under match play format, informed RNGC Caddie Committee President Ritesh Sigdel. “We are organising the tournament for the first time with an aim of producing champion pros,” said Sigdel.
The caddies were picked up based on their ranking of last year’s caddie tournament. “We have included two junior caddies — Binod Tamang and Subash Ghising — in our squad. They are young caddies and they need exposure,” he said.
The winning team will get Rs 20,000 along with trophy and medals, while longest drive, closest-to-the-pin and best winning pair will bag trophies.
