Royal Basketball Academy and Times International College advanced to the final of the second Royal National Level U-23 Basketball Tournament here today.

Royal hammered Solo Basketball Academy 77-37, while Times defeated Kirtipur Basketball Association 61-53 in the semi-finals matches played at the Royal Sports Central courts in Siddhipur. The final is slated for Friday.

In the first semi-final match, Royal and Solo began the campaign with 11 points each in the first quarter before the hosts opened up a huge 17-point lead in the second quarter that ended at 22-5. Royal extended the lead to 23 points after they won the third period 23-17 and the home side wrapped the victory with a dominating 21-4 win in the final quarter.

Ravi Poudel of Royal top scored in the match with 24 points and he also earned the Fresh Bites man-of the-match award. Jasang contributed 10 points for Solo.

In another semi-final match, Times opened with 15-9 lead before Kirtipur reduced the deficit to three points after winning the second period 17-14. Times won the third quarter 15-12 to restore the six-point lead and they took the final quarter 17-15 to complete the victory and earn a place in the final.

Manish KC of Times was the top scorer of the match with 22 points and he was later adjudged the Fresh Bites man of the match. Nischal Maharjan of Kirtpur contributed 21 points.
