LALITPUR, MARCH 24

Times International College and Solo Basketball Academy recorded wins to advance to the semi-finals of the second Royal National Level U-23 Basketball Tournament today.

Times defeated Jhilimili Basketball Club 72-38 in the last league round match to finish as Group B winners. Pemba Sherpa of Times top scored in the match with 13 points, while Bigyan Tandukar contributed nine points for Jhilimili.

Karma Yeshi Sherpa of Times was named the Fresh Bites man of the match.

Times dominated the show throughout the match. They opened with 16-11 lead and they took the second quarter 22-6. Times won the third period 13-6 and took the final quarter 21-15. Times will face Group A runners-up Kirtipur Basketball Association for a place in the final.

In another match, Solo recorded a 71-65 victory over Dharan Megha College. Sujan Rai of Dharan top scored in the match with 26 points but his efforts went in vain as he failed to avert his side's defeat. Sponzan Pradhanya scored 23 points for Solo and he was named the man of the match.

Solo opened with 14-8 lead and extended that taking the second period 18-6. Dharan bounced back to win the third quarter 23-8 to reduce the deficit to just three points.
