Rujesh felicitated
KATHMANDU: Nepal Bodybuilding and Fitness Association on Friday felicitated Rujesh Shahi. Shahi had won silver medal in the seventh World Bodybuilding Championship held in Thailand last month. National Sports Council Member Secretary Keshab Kumar Bista handed over a cheque of Rs 210,000 and felicitation letter at a programme. NBFA raised the amount with Rs 20,000 seed money, while president Rajesh Babu Shrestha contributed Rs 50,000. General secretary Dinesh Rajbhandari, treasurer Sagar Bagale, and members Sunil Rajkarnikar and Mohan Krishna Shrestha gave Rs 20,000 each, while secretary Rajan Shrestha, member Wakilman Tuladhar, Devine Physical Fitness Centre, New Golds Gym, Sunita Pradhan and Iren Shrestha put in Rs 10,000 apiece. Shahi had won the silver medal in men’s 55kg weight category becoming the first player to achieve the feat in Nepal’s bodybuilding history. Earlier, Shyam Shrestha had bagged the bronze medal in the second edition of the tournament in India five years ago. Fourth-placed Maheshwor Maharjan (60kg) and coach Gyanendra Nakarmi were also felicitated on the occasion.
