JHAPA: Agni Rupandehi-XI defeated Nepal APF Club 3-0 and advanced to the semi-finals of the Mechi Netralaya Kakarvitta Gold Cup Football Tournament that kicked off here in Mechinagar on Thursday.

Rajin Dhimal, Cedric Aba and Deepak Rai scored a goal each for Rupandehi, while Sudeep Sikhakar netted the consolation goal for APF. Dhimal opened the scoring for Rupandehi in the 15th minute and Aba doubled the tally three minutes later.

However, APF’s Sikhakar cut the deficit in the 60th minute before Rai made it 3-1 in the 80th minute.

Rupandehi’s goalkeeper Dilip Chhetri was named the man-of-the-match and took home Rs 10,000. On Friday, Jhapa-XI will take on Far-west-XI.
