SA archery kicks off

KATHMANDU: The third South Asian Archery Championship kicked off in Dhaka, Bangladesh on Saturday with a glittering opening ceremony on Saturday.

However, the matches will start from Sunday. Two teams from Bangladesh along with one each from Nepal, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are competing in the event. A total of nine Nepali archers are in fray in individual, mixed event and team event.

The event will conclude on Tuesday. Prem Prasad Pun, Min Prasad Gauchan and Tilak Pun will compete in men’s team recurve, while Gyanu Awale, Aisha Tamang and Tamanna Chhetri will take part in women’s category events.

Similarly, Hom Bahadur Thapa Magar, Prajeet Agrawal and Abhishek Raj Pradhan will participate in men’s compound event. — HNS
