Sachit Pradhan wins Mr Himalaya crown
Kathmandu, September 23 :
Sachit Pradhan of Kalimati Friendship Gym was declared the winner of the second Mr Himalaya Open Body Building Championship here today.
Last year’s winner Ram Bahadur Dahal of Nepal Byayam Mandir came second and Harish Shrestha was third. The top three winners got Rs 100,000 while the runners up got Rs 50,000 and Rs 40,000 respectively.
Naresh Maharjan, Shyam Shrestha and Bhuvan Man Joshi finished fourth, fifth and sixth respectively and got Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.
In the weight category, Ram Bahadur Dahal won the 55kg title while Harka Raj Limbu and Krishna Singh Shahi were runners up respectively. Sachit Pradhan claimed the 60-kg title. Bimal Shrestha and Surendra Bahadur Shahi finished runners up. Likewise, Shyam Shrestha bagged the 65kg category title ahead of Sunil Shahi and Roshan Manandhar. Harish Shrestha won the 70kg title putting behind Arjun Barnawal and Anil Shrestha. Bhuvan Man Shrestha won the 75-kg section title, while Biru Maharjan and Mani Lal Dangol came second and third respectively. Naresh Maharjan, Susat Maharjan and Rupesh Gurung claimed the top three spots in the Over 75-kg section.
In all, 130 body builders from 35 districts took part in the competition which was also considered as the preliminary selection for the 15th Asian Games to be held in Doha, Qatar in December.
Jeewan Ram Shrestha, member secretary of National Sports Council, gave away prizes to the winners.
