BRUSSELS: Veteran Belgian table tennis star Jean-Michel Saive announced his retirement on Thursday after a career spanning over three decades. The 46-year-old, world No 1 for 16 months in 1994-95, has competed in seven Olympic Games, without ever managing to bring home a medal. With his ranking down to 164 and with no possibility of securing his ticket to an eighth Games in Rio 2016 he has decided to call it a day.
