Kathmandu, April 12

Deepak Raj Singh Thakuri scored the solitary goal as Royal Blue Satdobato Youth Club ended Manang Marshyangdi Club's unbeaten run with a 1-0 victory in the Martyrs Memorial A Division League here at the Dasharath Stadium today.

The national team striker, Thakuri found the back of the nets in the first half and that was enough for Satdobato to earn all three points from table-toppers MMC. Thakuri received a through pass from Niraj Chaudhary and outpaced MMC defend-ers before slotting past goalkeeper Deep Karki in one-on-one situation for his sixth goal of the campaign.

The fifth win lifted Satdobato to top spot in the 14-team table with 16 points, while MMC who faced their first defeat of the league dropped down to second on 15. Satdobato were at the top of the table before the league went on break after the completion of five rounds.

In an earlier kick off at the Dasharath Stadium, Sankata Club defeated New Road Team 2-1. Junior Onguene Nkengue and Manish Dangi scored in the first half for Sankata before Nico-las Serge Song replied for NRT in the second half. With their third win of the league, Sankata moved to seventh position with 12 points, while NRT remained at the 11th place on six points.

Nkengue opened the scoring for Sankata in the 22nd minute after NRT goalkeeper Pujan Hona spilled the ball at the area, while Dangi doubled the tally in the 37th minute with a brilliant finish following a through pass from Nelson Yuniwo Konfor.

Song reduced the deficit in the 62nd minute when he found the back of the nets after Lalnunzama's strike rebounded to play off the post.

At the Chyasal Stadium, Himalayan Sherpa Club beat APF Football Club 5-3. Sudip Shrestha opened the scoring for Sherpa in the eighth minute before Satyam Sharma struck twice in the space of five minutes to make it 3-0.

Sharma doubled the tally in the 24th minute before scoring his second goal of the match five minutes later.

Armand Beadoum reduced the deficit in the fourth minute of the first half injury time. Sanish Shrestha made it 3-2 in the 47th minute before Pradip Lama levelled the scores in the 63rd minute.

Abayomi Oluwaseun Fakunle put Sherpa ahead in the 76th minute before Biswash Shrestha sealed the victory with his team's fifth goal a minute before the end.

With their second win, Himalayan Sherpa accumulated nine points and moved up to 10th place, while APF who faced their third defeat in eight matches remained at the ninth position with 11 points.
