Shakti powers Sileby to victory over Quorn
Kathmandu, August 2:
Shakti Gauchan scored 37 runs and took two wickets to lead his team Sileby T Cricket Club to a three wicket victory over Quorn Cricket Club in the Saturday League match in London. The left arm spinner took two wickets to help his team restrict the opponents for 122 in 45 overs. In reply, Shakti top-scored with 37 runs to lead his team to victory. “The match was a low scoring one because of heavy overnight rain, and the pitch was also slow,” said the Nepal’s national team vice-captain in an email sent to The Himalayan Times. Shakti is currently in England and has been playing for the Sileby Cricket Club, which hired him after the allrounder’s impressive performance in Indian Worli Cricket Club’s friendly tour of England. He scored 110 runs in the club’s first match and 78 runs in the other.
