Sherpa hammer BBC; JYC win

Himalayan Sherpa Club thrashed Brigade Boys Club 4-1 in the Pulsar Martyrs Memorial A Division League, while Grand Master Jawalakhel Youth Club beat Machhindra FC 2-1 here today.

Bishwash Shrestha scored a brace and Goha Patrick and Bhison Gurung netted one each for Sherpa, while Bartaman Rai scored the consolation goal for BBC. With the win, Sherpa accumulated 17 points from 11 matches, while BBC have six.

After a goalless first half, Patrick opened the scoring for Sherpa in the 46th minute before Gurung doubled the tally in the 54th minute. Shrestha then netted two goals to ensure Sherpa’s fifth victory in the league. He made it 3-0 in the 61st minute and added one more in the 80th minute. Rai pulled one back for BBC in the 87th minute.

In another match, Aruj Singh and Fode Fofana scored one goal each for JYC, while Alaba Ademola pulled one back for Machhindra. With their third win of the league, JYC moved to ninth position with 11 points, while Machhindra are at the 12th position with six points.

Singh put JYC ahead in the 55th minute when he converted a penalty, while Fofana doubled the tally 10 minutes later. At a time when the match was heading towards the end, Machhindra cut the deficit in the 90th minute when Ademola found the back of the nets.

The third match between NIBL Friends Club and New Road Team ended in a 1-1 draw. Sushil Lama put NRT ahead two minutes before the first half, while Ashim Bhusal levelled the scores for Friends in the 78th minute.

The draw meant, Friends accumulated nine points and they are at the 11th position, while NRT remained at the bottom of the 14-team competition with five points.
