KATHMANDU: Sanskriti International School on Sunday felicitated athlete Santoshi Shrestha with the Sanskriti Sports Samman here on Sunday.

The annual award is established to encourage rising talents in the national sports arena and it was handed over to Shrestha for her excellent performance in 2022, informed Chairperson of the school, Ranjit Acharya.

Former national cricket team skipper Paras Khadka handed over the award Shrestha - the first woman athlete to win gold medal in the South Asian Games - during school's Annual Sports Day programme at the Nepal APF Headquarters. Director of Sanskriti International School, Pashupati Murarka handed over a cheque of Rs 101,000 to Shrestha. Likewise, U-19 cricketer Krishna Bhatta, who has been undergoing training at the Cricket Excellence Centre, received the scholarship worth Rs 50,000.
