Shrestha wins Spey Livet Championship

Kathmandu, December 13:

SP Rajendra Shrsetha won the Spey Livet Golf Tournament organised by Himalayan Distillery at the Royal Nepal Golf Club today.

Playing on the first day of the two-day event on Friday, Shrestha earned 38 stableford points to capture the title. Deepak Rajbhandari was second with 36 points. Shrestha received two round tickets to Bangkok while Rajbhandari got two moutain flight tickets from Yeti Airlines. None of the golfers could claim the Hole-in-One award of Maruti Alto Lx car.

Shastika Shrestha emerged the winner in the ladies section with 26 countback points, while Puspa Rai finished second, also on countback. Maj NK Rai won the senior section, ahead of NW Lama. Rai also bagged the most birdies award.

Joseph Nathan was the best golfer among the guest participants. Raj Pradhan won the best gross award, while Aswini Saxena bagged the longest drive trophy and Neeraj SJB Rana took the closest to the pin award.

Narendra Kumar Basnyat, Chairman of Himalayan Distillery, gave away the prizes . Spey Livet Premium Rare Whisky of Himalayan Distillery was the main sponsor of the tournament played under stableford 3/4 handicap format. Maruti, Yeti Airlines, Hotel Shangri-La and Lowenbrau were the partners of the event participated in by 74 golfers.
