Played under stroke play full handicap format, the 19-handicap amateur golfer Simkhada carded 11-under 61 to finish first in the nett category. Phintso Ongdi Lama was a distant second with the score of four-under 68, while Purna Bahadur Rai came third at three-under 69 nett. Tashi Dong won the gross section trophy with the score of two-under 70, while Sadbhav Acharya was the winner among junior golfer after he carded one-under 71 nett. A total of 39 golfers took part in the tournament sponsored by Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd. President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire handed over the prizes to the winners. With the win, Simkhada moved seven places up to the top of the table in net section with 170 points, while Babu Sherpa moved to second with 125 points. Last month’s leader, Col Avaneesh Chambial slipped to third with 120 points, followed by Joseph Nathan (115). Ang Dendi Sherpa, Rabendra Raj Pandey and Vijay Shrestha Einhaus shared the fifth position with 100 points each. In gross section, Wangchen Dhondup maintained his lead with 335 points, ahead of his brother Tashi Tsering, who has 300 points. The day’s winner, Tashi Dong moved to third with 165 points, followed by Vijay Shrestha Einhaus (160) and Babu Sherpa (60). In junior section, Acharya extended his lead at the top of the table with 400 points, while Ang Phurba Sherpa is a distant second with 200 points. Mayank Dahal is third with 160 points, followed by Shaswat Pradhan (120) and Shreeyog Basnyat (40).
