Socceroos to play
SYDNEY: Australia’s Socceroos will play England in a football international in Sunderland, in northern England, on May 27, Football Federation Australia said Friday. Australia are expected to face a full strength England side that is in final preparations for this year’s UEFA European Championships. “The Socceroos taking on England will be a special occasion for everyone and is especially exciting for Socceroos fans,” FFA chief executive David Gallop said. It will be the seventh time the two nations have played each other with Australia beating England 3-1 the last time the two teams met at West Ham United’s Upton Park in 2003.
