Sompal Kami scored a half century as Tribhuvan Army Club recorded a five-wicket victory over Kathmandu Mayor's XI in the Kathmandu Mayor's Cup Cricket Tournament here at the TU Stadium today.

Batting first, Kathmandu Mayor's XI were bowled out for a paltry 155 runs in 42.1 overs before TAC raced to 156-5 with 157 balls to spare.

Kami scored a quick fire 80 off just 51 balls hitting fours and six sixes, while Kushal Malla struck two boundaries and a six in his run-a-ball 23.

Skipper Binod Bhandari scored an unbeaten 20 off 27 balls that included four hits to the fence, while Rajesh Pulami remained not out on eight. Bhim Sharki hit one each four and six in his 19- ball 16 for TAC. Star cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane and Bipin Khatri took two wickets each for Mayor's XI.

Earlier, Shahab Alam and Jitendra Mukhiya shared seven wickets between them to restrict Mayor's XI for a low score. Saurav Khanal top scored for Mayor's XI with 42 off 74 balls that included two each fours and sixes, while Sandeep Rajali hit three boundaries in his 63-ball 37.

Openers Khadak Bohora (19), Harishankar Shah (18) and skipper Sandeep Lamichhance (13) contributed in double figures, while five batsmen - Siddhant Lohani, Krishna Karki, Narayan Joshi, Bipin Khatri and Anil Kharel - could not open their accounts.

Alam was the pick of the TAC bowlers taking 4-39, while Mukhiya claimed 3-38.

Man-of-the-match Kami, Bikram Sob and Kushal Malla grabbed one wicket each.
