Squash players named BS Sports ambassadors

Kathmandu, March 24

Nepal national squash team members Arhant Keshar Simha and Amrit Thapa Magar were nominated as the brand ambassadors of BS Sports here today.

Nepal Squash Rakets Association president Kishore Maharjan and BS Sports Director M Ali Babar signed the memorandum of understanding at a programme today. As per the agreement, BS Sports — the Pakistani company which is the largest manufacturer and exporter of sports and fashion wear — will provide the two players with all necessary kits for two years.

BS Sports will also arrange training for Simha and Thapa Magar apart from managing their entries in national-level tournament in Pakistan. “This is good recognition of the rising reputation of squash. We are privileged to have two young players appointed as brand ambassadors by a reputed company,” said NSRA in a release.

NSRA president Maharjan thanked BS Sports for the gesture. “We have not received any support from anybody till date. This has given us more responsibilities and the players will have to perform better in the days to come,” said Maharjan. “I think it will help us in spreading the message that Nepal has good squash players.”

BS Sports Director Ali said he was proud to be a part of Nepali squash. “I have watched their games and found that they have a lot of potential. So we decided to support them,” Ali said. Previously, BS Sports sponsored the Nepal national cricket team but the deal was unilaterally terminated by Cricket Association of Nepal.
