Sri Lanka beat Zimbabwe by 25 runs in the fifth one-day international and completed a 5-0 series whitewash.

Sri Lanka scored 246/7 in 50 overs, and while the second-string Zimbabwe side was competitive for the first time in the series, they reached only 221-9. Russel Arnold scored unbeaten 51, while Mahela Jayawardene made 47 runs. In reply, Brendan Taylor scored 74 runs, but Muttiah Muralitharan (5-22) wrecked the hosts.
