Sudurpashchim Province and Province-I registered their third straight victories in the PM Cup Women's T20 National Cricket Tournament here at the Janata Cricket Park today.
Sudurpashchim defeated Nepal APF Club by four wickets. Batting first, the departmental side posted 91-9 in their 20 overs before Sudurpashchim reached 92-6 with four balls to spare.
Sudurpashchim were reduced to 27-4 in 8.2 overs and Dolly Bhatta and Ritu Kanaujiya revived the innings with a 50-run partnership for the fifth wicket. After both of them were dismissed at the score of 77, Kabita Joshi and Rewati Dhami took the team home without further loss adding 15 runs for the unbroken seventh wicket.
Bhatta top scored with 33 off 38 balls with the help of four boundaries and a six, while Kanoujiya contributed 10. Joshi remained unbeaten on five-ball seven and Dhami scored seven-ball eight not out. Both of them hit one each four. Nary Thapa was the pick of the APF bowlers taking 3-10, while Suman Bist, Indu Barma and Sita Rana Magar grabbed one wicket each.
Earlier, Mamta Chaudhary top scored for APF with runa-ball 26 with the help of two fours, while Roma Thapa (15), Jyoti Pandey (14) and Indu Barma (11) contributed in double figures. Player-of-thematch Kabita Joshi grabbed 3-15 from four overs for Sudurpashchim and Ritu Kanoujiya took 2-19. Kabita Kunwar and Manisha Chaudhary bagged one wicket each.
In another match which was reduced to 11-over-a-side due to heavy fog, Province-I defeated Karnali by 10 wickets.
Batting first, Karnali posted 39-5 before Province-I raced to 40-0 with 37 balls to spare.
Province-I openers Kajal Shrestha and skipper Rubina Chhetry took the team home without loss in just 4.5 overs.
Player-of-the-match Chhetry hit three boundaries and a six in her 14-ball 22 not out, while Shrestha remained unbeaten on 15-ball 13 with the help of two fours.
Earlier, Rama Budhathoki was the lone Karnali batter who scored in double figures.
Budhathoki hit a four in her 29-ball 18. Jyoti Danwar, Rubina Chhetry, Sangita Rai and Kajol Shrestha grabbed one wicket each for Province-I.
