KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 28

Sudurpashchim Province registered their fourth consecutive victory, while Lumbini recorded second win in the Wai Wai U-19 National Cricket Tournament here today.

Sudurpashchim outplayed Province-I by 213 runs at the TU Stadium. Batting first, Sudurpashchim posted 264-9 in their allotted 50 overs before packing Province-I for a paltry 51 runs in 16.3 overs.

Sudurpashchim lost openers Deepak Bohara (one) and Bishal Ayer (13) with 31 runs on the board before skipper Anurag Singh and Milan Bohara shared a 103-run partnership for the third wicket to take the match away from Province-I.

Skipper Singh top scored with 83 off 112 balls, while Bohara scored 78-ball 64. Both the batters struck eight boundaries and a six each.

Dipak Bohara hit three fours and a six in his 35-ball 32, while Gajendra Bohara (24) and Aakash Chand (20) also contributed in double figures.

Abhinaya Rajbanshi was the pick of the Province-I bowlers taking 4-41, while Ashish Magar and Dipesh Kandel grabbed two wickets each.

In reply, Province-I were never in contention as Hemant Dhami, Aakash Chand and Milan Bohara did not let the batters settle in the middle.

Player-of-the-match Dhami completed five-wicket haul taking 5-22 from seven overs and he was ably supported by Chand (3-8) and Bohara (2-1). Bhupal Dangal (10) was the lone Province-I batter to score in double digit.

At the Mulpani grounds, Lumbini condemned Gandaki to fourth straight defeat with a four-wicket victory in a match which was reduced to 40-overa-side due to fog.

Gandaki were bowled out for 161 runs in 36.3 overs before Lumbini reached 162-6 with four balls to spare.

Chasing a low target, Lumbini were reduced to 71-4 inside 20 overs before Vishal Bhusal and Aakash Tripathi shared a 82-run partnership for the fifth wicket to take the team closer to victory. And they lost Tripathi and Durgesh Gupta in the 38th over but Bhusal hung on to lead the team to victory with four balls remaining.

Bhusal remained unbeaten on 52 off 72 balls that included three fours and a six, while opener Tripathi struck three fours in his 78-ball 45. Prajwol Thapa scored 24 off 35 balls with the help of five boundaries, whereas Dev Khanal (15) and Sunil Bhandari (12) contributed in double figures.

Kiran Bhattarai and Sudip Aryal grabbed two wickets each for Gandaki, while Nirtesh Giri and Subash Bhandari bagged one apiece.

Earlier, Sudip Aryal top scored for Gandaki with a quick fire 36 off 20 balls hitting four fours and three sixes, while Deepak Dumre hit three fours in his 46-ball 30 and Karan Pangeni scored 29 off 53 balls hitting three fours.

Shishir Bhusal (12 not out) and Govind BK (10) scored in double figures.

Player-of-the-match Durgesh Gupta completed five-wicket haul taking 5-29, while Nirmal Gurung grabbed 3-11 for Lumbini. Nar Sarki and Tul Bahadur Thapa bagged one wicket each.
