Hetauda Gold Cup from Thursday

Suman Bhomjan Memorial Sports Foundation is organising the second edition of the International Invitational Hetauda Gold Cup Football Tournament from December 29 at the Forestry University grounds in Makawanpur.
The organisers said the preparations were at the final stage and the ground maintenance works would be finished by tomorrow. A total of 10 teams will take part in the tournament, informed President of the Foundation Bhesh Khadki at a press meet. Teams from India and Bhutan will join three departmental teams — Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal Police Club and Nepal APF Club — along with Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club, Saraswati Club, Sahara Club, CMG Club Sankata and Bijay Youth Club in the tournament.
The winners of the tournament will receive Rs 500,000, while the runners-up will earn Rs 300,000. Likewise, the best player of the tournament will be awarded with Rs 50,000, while five best individuals — coach, goalkeeper, defender, forward and midfielder — will receive Rs 15,000 each. The organisers have estimated the budget of Rs 4.5 million for the tournament. The organisers have also managed temporary parapet for the spectators. “We will charge Rs 100 each for a parapet ticket, while the normal ticket will be sold for Rs 50,” said Press and Publicity Convenor Rajan Dahal.
