PANCHTHAR: Sunsari defeated Divine Boys Union Club 3-0 in the inaugural match of the ninth Ruslan Falgunanda Gold Cup Football Tournament here at the Phidim High School grounds on Friday. Tirtha Basnet scored a brace and Sujan Yakkha added one for Sunsari. Basnet opened the scoring in the third minute and doubled the tally in 36th minute before Yakkha made it 3-0 in the 75th minute. Sunsari’s Tirtha Basnet was named the man of the match. On Saturday, Birta Youth-XI will play against Taplejung-XI. A total of 10 teams are competing in the event. The winners and runners-up will earn Rs 300,000 and Rs 200,000 respectively.
