PHIDIM: Sunsari XI edged Morang XI by 2-0 in a pulsating final game of the IX Ruslan Falgunanda Gold Cup, in Phidim of Panchthar district, on Sunday.

Tirtha Basnet broke the dead-lock on the 67th minute after both the teams played goalless first half.

Sunsari's Hemant Thapa ensured victory with a fine strike with just five minutes remaining in the clock.

The winners bagged 3,00,000 and runner-up were rewarded with Rs 2,00,000, trophy, medals and certificates.

Sunsari's Hemant Thapa was declared as Man-of-the-Tournament and received Rs 35,000.

Similarly, Sunsari's Tirtha Basent got leading marksman award, Bikash Chaudhary as best goalkeeper, Buddhi Man Rai as best midfielder and Nivan Limbu as best forward.

Likewise, Mornag's Surendra Khawas was awarded as best defender and each best players received Rs 10,000.
