Super Eight Cricket

KATHMANDU: Khukuri ENT and Devibas Events and Media Pvt Ltd are jointly organising the Super Eight Cricket Tournament at the Tribhuvan University Stadium from March 28 to April 1.

A maximum of 20 teams will take part in the tournament which will be played under league-cum-knock out format, informed tournament committee president Binayak Bikram Thapa at a press meet on Thursday.

The participating teams will be divided into five pools and top two after the league round will make it to the quarter-finals.

A total of 37 matches will be played in the tournament. Top two teams will receive Rs 100,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively. The best player will earn Rs 20,000, while the best batsman and bowler will get Rs 10,000 each. “This is an open event and any one can play from any team. Our main objective is to keep the players engaged at a time when there are few tournaments for them to take part in,” said Thapa.
