Sweet victory for Honey group

Honey Enterprises came from behind to beat Aseatic Traders and Exporters 2-1 in the final of the Corporate Bowling Tournament organised by Fun World Nepal Recreation Centre to mark the 59th birthday of King Gyanendra, here today. Aseatic Traders and Exporters won the first game 687-631, but failed to keep up the tempo and conceded other two games and the championship. Honey Enterprises, who comprised of Dinesh Shrestha, Abhimanyu Rana, Jahendra Bikram Thapa, Bharat Bastakoti and Maya Gurung, won the second game 677-629; won the title with a 755-565 win in the third game. Maya Gurung of Honey Enterprises rolled down 203 pin falls in the third game which earned her the highest female top-scorer’s award, while Nilendra Mali of Paradise Tours and Travels won the men’s section award with 228 pin falls. Both the top-scorers bagged Rs 3,000 each. In the third-place play-off, Attsh outplayed Speedway Cargo 2-1. Speedway won the first game 590-554, but Attsh came back and won other two games, 589-581 and 621-574. Earlier, in the semis, Honey Enterprises ousted Speedway 2-0 while Aseatic made it to the final beating Attsh 2-1. Member secretary of National Sports Council Kishor Bahadur Singh and president of Nepal Bowling Association Senon D Lama gave away prizes to the winners of the six-day tournament. In all, 13 teams took part in the event.
