Swimmers shine

KATHMANDU: Nepali Swimmers continued to break national records in the 16th FINA World Championship in Kazan, Russia. Sirish Gurung broke the national record of his own in 100m freestyle on Wednesday. Gurung completed the distance in 58.22 seconds to better his record of 58.55 seconds held during the fourth NSA Cup Open Swimming Tournament last year. Earlier, Nepali swimmers, Sofia Shah and Gaurika Singh had made records in their respective events. But Gurung failed to qualify for semi-finals as he finished in the 100th spot off 110 participants.
