TANAHU: Syangja won the title of Western Regional Volleyball Tournament here at Bhimad Bazar on Sunday.

Syangja outplayed Nawalparasi 25-17, 25-22, 15-9 in the final of the tournament and earned a purse of Rs 101,111. Runners-up Nawalparasi received Rs 51,111. Kaski and Tanahu came third and fourth and got Rs 25,111 and 12,111 respectively. Nawalparasi’s Ghanashyam Mahato received the best player’s award and Ram Mahato was named the best server.

Likewise, Syangja’s Ramesh KC was awarded with the best blocker’s award and Bharat Thapa was declared the best setter.  Tanahu’s Milan Chandra Thakuri got the award of best spiker and Kaski’s Paras Gurung won the award of best defender. A total of 13 districts of the region took part in the competition organised by Bhimad Youth Club.
