TAAN Half Marathon set for May 29
KATHMANDU: Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal is organising the first TAAN Langtang-Gosainkunda Half Marathon to mark its 38th Establishment Day on May 29. The event is being organised to disseminate the message that Langtang-Gosainkunda region is back and now receiving tourists, the organisers said. The race will begin from the Gosainkunda Lake at an altitude of 4,380 metres and goes through Lauribina, Cholangpati, Chandanbari and Deurali before concluding at Dhunche (1,960m). Top three finishers in both — male and female — categories will receive Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively. The organisers have expected around 100 athletes. The registration fee for the event is Rs 5,000 which covers two-way transportation from Kathmandu, accommodation and fooding.
