KATHMANDU: Nepali boxer Sushma Tamang advanced to the quarter-finals of the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championship in Poland on Saturday.

Tamang defeated Lithunia's Bajalyte Dija in the preliminary round bout of women's 48kg weight category.

Tamang secured the Referee Stop Contest (RSC) decision over her opponent in the third round of the bout.

Tamang will face Poland's Kuczewska Natalia Dominlka in the next round and the win will ensure historic medal for Nepal in the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championship.
