KATHMANDU: A three-member golf team on Monday left for Malaysia to take part in two tournaments. Tanka Bahadur Karki, Sukra Bahadur Rai and Tenzing Tsering — who is already in Malaysia for one-month training at the Mines Golf Academy — will participate in the 114th Malaysia Amateur Open slated for May 19-22 at the Temper Park Country Club in Rawang, Selengor, before taking part in the Saujana MPI Golf Championship at the Saujana Country Club from May 24-26. After the tournaments, the players will take part in the special golf training at the MST Golf Academy of Singapore from May 27 to June 2, informed Nepal Golf Association General Secretary Tashi Ghale, who accompanied the players to Malaysia. International Golf Expert Kim Baldwin arranged the training for Nepali players in Singapore where they will learn short-game techniques, informed Ghale. Meanwhile, Tsering is scheduled to go to Scotland for one-month training in July and will also take part in the junior championship at the St Andrew’s.
