Team off to Russia
LALITPUR: A 13-member Nepali team left for Russia to participate in the sixth Children of Asia International Sports Games.
Bishal Shrestha and Kusum Tamang (boxing), Dakshina Thakur and Govinda Bahadur Ale (taekwondo), Santu Shrestha and Dikshya Tamang (table tennis), and Roshan Bahadur Dong and Saddha Kumar Khatri (judo) will represent Nepal in the Games. Boxing team manager Shanti Singh, taekwondo coach Govinda Prasad Sharma, table tennis manager Upendra Kumar Poudel and judo coach Mohan Sunuwar accompanied the players to Russia for the Games slated for July 6-7 in Yakutsk.
Youth and Sports Minister Satya Narayan Mandal and Nepal Olympic Committee President Jeevan Ram Shrestha bade farewell to the team on Friday.
