KATHMANDU: A four-member veteran Nepali athletics team is on Wednesday leaving for England to participate in the London Marathon slated for April 23.

Ram Krishna Maharjan will take part in the 65-70 age category, while Shambhu Prasad Dahal will run in 61-65 age section and Sanjib Aryal is scheduled to run in 40- 45 age category.

Radha Maharjan will accompany the athletes to England as an team official. Ram Krishna Maharjan is the most experienced athlete in the team.

In his 21 international participations, Maharjan has bagged three each gold and silver along with four bronze medals. Legendary marathon runner Baikuntha Manandhar and Athletics Family Nepal President Rajan Khatri among others bade farewell to the team on Monday.
