LALITPUR: A two-member swimming team on Friday left for Phuket, Thailand to undergo training for the 18th Asian Games slated for August 18 to September 2 in Indonesia.

Swimmer Tisa Shakya and coach Ongden Lama left for Thailand, while Olympian Gaurika Singh will undergo training in Kathmandu. Two swimmers, Olympian Sirish Gurung and Shuvam Shrestha are already undergoing training in Thailand. The team will reach Indonesia on August 15, while the swimming competition will be held from August 19-24.

National Sports Council Member Secretary Keshab Kumar Bista and Nepal Olympic Committee President Jeevan Ram Shrestha bade farewell to the team in separate programmes. — HNS
