KATHMANDU, MAY 6

Pravin Shahi Thakuri won the title of the seventh ADSON Charity Golf Tournament here at the Gokarna Golf Club today.

Played under stableford 3/4 handicap format, the 14-handicap amateur golfer Thakuri scored 42 points to finish first.

Along with the trophy, Thakuri received round-trip tickets to Singapore from Singapore Airlines. Pradip KC came second with 39 points.

National golf team member Sadbhav Acharya won the gross section trophy with 37 points. Reeya Shrestha claimed the women's category title on count back after she was tied on 21 points with Samjhana Khatri. Likewise, Tulasi Bhatta lifted the senior section trophy with 32 points, while Nareshwor Gurung claimed the super senior category title with 21 points.

Tashi Dong won the most birdies award, while Babu Poudel (closest-to-the-pin), Jigme Dongtetshang (longest drive) and Pasang Sherpa (straightest drive) also bagged the field prizes. A total of 61 golfers took part in the tournament organised by the Ability Development Society of Nepal.

Supreme Court Justice Anil Kumar Sinha, ADSON Chairman RR Pandey, Fund Development Director Nirmala Gyawali, Nepal Golf Association President Tashi Ghale, Singapore Airlines General Manager Melvin Tan and Founder of The Rose International Foundation for Children Robert Rose handed over the prizes to the winners.
