Thapa, Nagarkoti tied on top

Kathmandu, December 20:

Deepak Thapa tied for the lead with Ramesh Nagarkoti after carding two under 65 on the third day of the CMS All Nepal Open Golf Tournament today.

Thapa and Nagarkoti are tied with five over 206 after the third round. Thapa who started the day with five shots behind (141) the second round leader Pashupati Sharma, had birdies on holes three, four, eight, eleven and twelve. Thapa also had bogeys on holes nine, 15, and 18. Nagarkoti had one over 68.

The second day leader Pashupati Sharma dropped down for the joint third with Deepak Neupane after carding 11 over 78 today. Pashupati and Neupane are tied with 13 over 214. Neupane carded six over 73. Radheshyam Thapa and Deepak Acharya are joint fifth with the overall 216. Thapa carded three over 70 while Acharya had five over 72 today.

Shiva Ram Shrestha leads the standings among the amateurs with the overall 214. Shiva Ram carded one over 68 to climb up the ladder. Surya Sharma, the second day leader, dropped down for the second place tie with Rupak Acharya at 220 overall. Rupak carded five over 72 while Surya had 11 over 78.

Each round has so far witnessed a new leader. Sachin Bhattarai led the first day and Pashupati Sharma on the second. In all 31 golfers — 16 professionals and 15 amateurs — are taking part in the tournament.
