Thapa triumphs title in Pokhara

POKHARA: Narayan Thapa of Nepal APF Club won the 10th Safal Pokhara Marathon here on Saturday. Thapa clocked two hours, 32 minutes and four seconds to complete the distance, while Mixen Tamang came second in 2:34:04 and Khim Bahadur Khatri of APF was third in 2:35:06. Top three finishers received Rs 60,000, Rs 40,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively. A total of 84 athletes participated in the event. In 5km student race, Binod Gurung, Sandip Sinjali and Manoj Adhikari finished in top three positions and received Rs 7,000, Rs 5, 000 and Rs 3,000 respectively. In wheelchair race, Suresh Gauli, Bharat Adhikari and Bharat Baniya were the top three finishers and earned Rs 3,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,000 respectively.
