Three Star rout BBC; APF struggle

Kathmandu, January 5:

Nabil Three Star Club routed Brigade Boys Club (BBC) 5-0 while Gyanendra APF registered a 2-1 win over Boys Union Club (BUC) in the Martyrs’ Memorial San Miguel ‘A’ Division League here at the Dasharath Stadium today.

Three Star’s Lok Bandhu Gurung opened the scoring in the 15th minute when he converted a 20-yard free kick before Chidiyadi Chyna doubled the lead six minutes later. Skipper Surendra Tamang made it 3-0 in the 23rd minute, while Chyna scored his second goal in the 29th and Obagbemiro Junior made it 5-0 in the 33rd minute.

In the second match, Santosh Sahukhala put the APF ahead just before the first half whistle, while Raju Rai levelled the scores in the 71st minute. Sahukhala headed home the winner in the 82nd minute.

“Sahukhala was at the off-side position and assistant referee Sachin Amatya, who happens to be a friend of the APF striker, favoured him,” accused BUC coach Shyam Mali. BUC skipper Bijay Maharjan said that the referees should not be biased towards any club.
