Thrilling win for Shuvatara

Kathmandu, December 13:

Shuvatara registered a thrilling one-run victory over Gyanodaya in the inaugural match of the fifth SNB Memorial Inter-school Cricket Tournament here at the TU Stadium today.

Electing to bat first, Shuvatara were bowled out for 95 runs in 17.3 overs with Kreetarth Pyakurel top scoring with 23. Kreetarth’s 24-ball knock included four hits to the fence. Pallav Shrestha contributed 13. Prajwol Pathak, who was later named man of the match, was the pick of the Gyanodaya bowlerw with 5-19 from four overs. Prayash Regmi and Shreejan Sharma also took one wicket apiece.

In reply, Gyanodaya fell two runs short of victory, making 94-9 in 18 overs. Dilendra Yadav top scored with 37-ball 33 while Shreejan and Abhisekh Khadka chipped in eight runs each. Shashank Acharya finished with 3-18 for Shuvatara. Kreetarth, Pallab Shrestha and Vaibhav Bhatta also grabbed one wicket each.

Rajan Memorial will take on Daffodil and hosts Adarsha Vidya Mandir will meet Nightingale on Sunday.
