Campion win opener

LALITPUR: Basanta Sunuwar struck twice as Campion School thrashed Basanta Ritu School 4-0 in the inaugural match of the first Campion Inter-school Football Tournament, which has been organised by Campion Associates to mark its 10th anniversary, at JYC ground. Amir Gurung and Pranjal Sharma also scored. Earlier, Adacemic Director of Campion Associates Deepak Thapa inaugurated the event. On Tuesday it’s: Little Angels’ School vs GEMS; Malpi vs Future Star; and Brihaspati Vidya Sadan vs Birendra Sainik. — HNS

Gurung finishes first

BHAKTAPUR: Bikash Gurung of Central Wushu Kwan came first, followed by Ramesh Suwal and Bikash Rai in the men’s Chhang Chhwan at the first Valley-wide Wushu Tournament. In women’s section, Manita Maharjan, Deki Sherpa and Urmila Shrestha grabbed top three spots. Sajan Vaishya came first in men’s Nan Chhwan, while Kalpana Sunuwar did so in women’s section. Pratap Thapa won in men’s Thachi Chhwan. — HNS

Microbiology win

KATHMANDU: Micrbiology team defeated Environment Science team 2-1 in the day’s match of the first Inter-science department Volleyball Tournament, which has been organised by Microbiology Students’ Association of Nepal, today. In other matches, Mathematics team beat Statistics team 2-0 and Physics team ‘A’ beat Chemistry team 2-0. The final is slated for May 27. — HNS

KATHMANDU: The Bachelor-level students of the Himalayan White House International College

(HWHIC), in association with the college, are organising the third Inter-college Bachelor’s Level Basketball Tournament from June 8-15. In all, 12 teams from varoius colleges will take part in the week-long event. — HNS
