LALITPUR: Annapurna Hotel, Shikhar Insurance and Himalayan Bank entered the semi-finals of the 2nd Corporate Soccer Cup six-a-side football tournament, which has been organised by Gap Event Management. On Saturday, Nepal Investment Bank and Himalayan Distillery played a 4-4 draw; Bu-ddha Air beat Chaudhary Group 2-1; NCC Bank and Annapurna Hotel played a goalless draw; Shikhar Insurance defeated Himalayan Distillery 3-1; and Himalayan Bank and Buddha Air played a 2-2 draw. — HNS

Sun Moon Peace Cup

KATHMANDU: Machhindra Club came from one-goal deficit and stunned Mahendra Police Club 5-1 in the opening match at the Sun Moon Peace Cup football tournament, which has been organised by Inter-religious and International Federation for World Peace (IIFWP), Nepal under the technical assistance of Kathmandu District FA. Dipendra Limbu opened the scoring for MPC, while Machhindra Club, who entered the ‘A’ division this year, replied with a goal in the first half and scored four others in the second. Arjun Rijal and Deepak Rai netted two each and Bijay Dhimal struck once. — HNS

Karate tourney ends

KATHMANDU: LRI School won four gold medals and finished first in the first Senior and Junior Team Fight Karate Tournament organised by Pachali Bhairav Dojo. Out of the total eight events, the hosts won two golds and came second. In senior men’s team fight, Main Dojo and Pachali Bhairav grabbed top two spots, while LRI and Dhulikhel Dojo did so in junior section. In senior women’s kata, LRI came first, whereas LRI claimed the top spot in junior section. — HNS
