Marathon clinic held
KATHMANDU: National Association for Sports, Health and Fitness conducted a coaching clinic from March 27-29 for the marathon and long-distance runners, and coaches. In all, 43 participants from various athletic clubs, Nepal Police, TU professors, and physical education students and teachers took part in the clinic sponsored by Nepal-China Education Society. The clinic included classes on sports psychology, coaching and nutrition. — HNS
Samyukta Youth Club win
BHAKTAPUR: Samyukta Youth Club defeated Young Heart Unity 25-20, 12-25, 25-14 and Pratibha Bikash Club ‘B’ beat Bhaktapur Young Circle 25-18, 25-14 in the fifth Martyrs’ Memorial Running Shield Volleyball Tournament. Purushottam Jha of Samyukta Club and Manoj Giri of Pratibha Club won the man of the match awards. — HNS
Youth Club bag Rani Cup
BIRATNAGAR: Raj Kumar Pradhan and Roshan Budhathoki scored half century each as Youth Club thrashed Seven Star Cricket Club by 136 runs to win the Rani Cup Open Cricket Tournament here today. Batting first, Youth Club were bowled out for 252 runs in 33.5 overs. Man of the match and man of the series Raj Kumar Pradhan scored 79 off 56 balls whereas Roshan Budhathoki scored 58 off 51 balls. In reply, Seven Star Cricket Club could muster just 116 runs in 22.5 overs. For Youth Club, Sushil Chaudhari claimed three wickets. — HNS

LAHAN: Saaj Kumar Ale scored the only goal as Himkasturi Youth Club defeated Hero’s Club 1-0 in the day’s match of the Sagarmatha Gold Cup Inter-zonal Football Tournament, which has been organised by Himksturi Youth Club, here today. — HNS
