Prime Cup basketball

KATHMANDU: St Xavier’s College thrashed ACE Institute 43-8 in the Prime Cup 3rd Inter-college Basketball Tournament. Sujan Neupane scored 15 points for the winners. In other matches, SIGMA edged out Ideal 15-10; Kundan Muktang netted 29 points as Rato Bangala routed Classic Academy 68-3; and Sadish scored 19 points in White House College’s 57-43 win over Sahid Smarak. — HNS

ANFA-Mayos football

LALITPUR: Kathmandu, Panchthar, Rautahat and Makawanpur entered the semi-finals of the ANFA-Mayos district-level Girls’ Football Tournament. In the day’s quarters, Panchthar defeated Kavre 3-2 in tie-breaker; Kathmandu beat Sunsari 3-0; Rautahat outplayed Morang 4-2; and Makawanpur edged out Rupandehi 2-0. — HNS

‘B’ Division League

KATHMANDU: All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) is organising the ‘B’ Division League Football Tournament under the Martyrs’ Memorial League at Dasharath Stadium from January 15. In all, nine teams will take in the round-robin tournament. — HNS

Birthday Cup shooting

LALITPUR: Suraj Bahadur Singh came first in the men’s Air Rifle section at the Birthday Cup Shooting Tournament. Prashant Narayan Singh and Prahlad Karki finished second and third. Rudra Raj Maskey finished first in the men’s Air Pistol section, while Suraj Bikram Shahi and Aashish Bikram Shahi came second and third. Central Region ‘A’ and Nepal Police ‘A won men’s Air Rifle and Air Pistol team events. — HNS
