Singh meets Hali

KATHMANDU: Member Secretary of National Sports Council Kishor Bahadur Singh organised a lunch programme in honour of the 16th Asian Games Bidding Committee members of China, here on Friday. Vice-governor of Gyang Dong province and president of Bidding Committee Sau Hali led the seven-member team. Chinese ambassador San Hyaping, duputy secretary of ministry of education and sports Laba Prasad Devkota, under secretary Upendra Bhattarai and NSC members were also present. — HNS

Robo-Soccer in July

LALITPUR: The Robotics Club of Institute of Engineering is organising the first National Machine Design Contest 2004 on July 23. The competition will feature participants from all the 20 Engineering colleges of the country, and 15 colleges have already confirmed their particiaption. Robo-Soccer is played between two teams like football, but machines will compete in place of humans. Each team will have two automatic and an semi-automatic machine. — HNS

Match postponed

LALITPUR: The quarter-final match of the second KCC Running Trophy 2004 between Management Campus and College of Information and Technology was postponed due to heavy rain on Saturday. The match was stopped when Management Campus was batting in their 14th over. The organisers, KCC Students Council, have not fixed the date of the postpond match. On Sunday, Himalayan White House College will take on Sagarmatha Multiple College. — HNS
