Army reach final

TANAHU: Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) registered a comfortable 3-0 win over Himalayan Sherpa Club to reach the finals of National Inter-club Football Tournament here today. Hari Mahato gave Army the lead in the 26th minute. Amrit Basnet doubled the lead four minutes later. Army then extended their lead in the second half with Jukti KC scoring in the 49th minute. Jukti was also adjudged the Man of the Match. Despite the convincing win, the TAC coach Raju Kaji Shakya said his team’s performance was not up to their standard. TAC will now take on the ANFA U-19 team for the championship match on Sunday. — HNS

Open Wrestling C’ship

KATHMANDU: Mustang Kali Gandaki Youth Club is organising the Open Wrestling Championship on Monday here in Kathmandu. A total of 10 professional wrestlers will participate in

the championship at Mustang Sewa Samaj in Swayambhu, said the club president Rajendra Gurung. The Snow Lion, King Lizard, Mr Yeti, Max B, Scorpion, Ajingar, Black Cobra, Warrior, Rhino and Mr K are the wrestlers participating in the championship organised to mark the 64th anniversary of Rimpoche Shakya Thirjin. — HNS
