WC golf qualifier

Kathmandu: Nepal’s professional golfers Pashupati Sharma and Ramesh Nagarkoti failed to improve their game and remain tied with Mauritius at the bottom of the table after second round of the Omega Mission Hills World Cup Qualifier in Malaysia on Thursday. The Nepali pros carded a miserable 13-over 84 in the foursomes at the Seri Selangor Golf Club today. They had a card of 11-over 82 in the first round of the fourball play on Wednesday. The only solace for the Nepali pros was that Rajesh Mohun and Jocelyn Savrimootoo of Mauritius, who had a card of six-over 77 in the fourball, joined them at the bottom of the table after carding a horrible 18-over 89 today. Mars Pucay and Angelo Que of the Philippines remained in command after a one-over 72 . The Philipinos lead with a total 10-under 132. But the leading duo saw their overnight four-stroke lead trimmed to three after Singaporean’s Lam Chih Bing and Mardan Mamat battled to the day’s best card of 71. — HNS
