Boxers depart

KATHMANDU: A 12-member Nepali boxing team is on Monday leaving for Chandigad to participate in the first AK Mishra International Invitational Boxing Championship. Among the players to take part in the March 10-16 event are Laxuman Tamang (51kg), Devendra Raj Singh Thakuri (54), Dinesh Shrestha (57), Ajit Gurung (60), Sushil Ghimire (64), Devendra Maharjan (69), Ujjar Singh Thapa (75) and Deepak Maharjan (81). Coach Sabin Bhattacharya, manager Sanjeev Baidhya, referee/judge Om Maskey and Nepal Boxing Association representative Kiran Bahadur Shrestha will accompany the team. Hilbert Cup

KATHMANDU: Bishwo Niketan and British Gorkha won their respective matches at the first Hilbert Cup Inter-school Knockout Football Tournament. Bishwo Niketan edged past hosts Hilbert ‘A’ 3-2. Jitendra Karki, Rabi Silwal and Bijay Poudel scored for Bishwo Niketan while Saroj Gurung and Nirajan Rana replied for Hilbert. In the
